Proximity to Military Bases
While San Marco and St. Nicholas are not geographically far from the military bases, getting to them is a little trickier than from other areas of town. You can easily access I-95 from these neighborhoods, which can take you north to Kings Bay. To reach NAS Jax, you can take I-95 N to cross the Fuller Warren Bridge and head south to the base on Roosevelt Boulevard, or take I-95 S to connect with I-295 and cross the Henry H. Buckman Bridge. To get to Mayport, you’ll need to choose one of your many options to head east. It’s about a 45 minute drive to all the bases from San Marco and St. Nicholas.
Access To The Rest of The City
Several major roadways converge in the San Marco and St. Nicholas area, including I-95, Atlantic Blvd (SR-10), Philips Highway (US-1), and Beach Blvd (SR 202, US 90). These roads can get you to almost any part of the city.
