What makes the Southside unique?
Despite the name, the Southside is a very central area of Jacksonville. It offers easy access to all areas of the city, as well as many unique attractions, including the Autobahn Indoor Speedway, Alhambra Dinner Theatre, TopGolf, and Urban Air Adventure Park. With two new, large residential neighborhoods - eTown and Seven Pines - the Southside is an ever growing area of the city.
Shopping on the Southside
The Southside is home to two major shopping malls: St. John’s Town Center and the Avenues Mall. Both shopping centers offer a variety of popular retail stores as well as restaurants and specialty stores. You can also find an antique mall, IKEA, and a large flea and farmer’s market on the Southside.

Proximity to Military Bases
Due to its central location, the Southside provides easy access to all the military bases in Jacksonville and the surrounding area. There are several main roads to take you east to NAS Mayport, or you can easily access I-95 or I-295 to get over to NAS Jax or up to Kings Bay. Most bases will be about a 35 minute drive, depending on where in the Southside you live.
Access To The Rest of The City
Most of the major roads in Jacksonville run through the Southside, including FL-202 (aka JTB), I-95, I-295, Beach Blvd (SR 202, US 90), and Atlantic Blvd (SR 10). This makes it very easy to head east to the beaches, west to San Marco or Orange Park, south to St. John’s, or north to Downtown or Fernandina Beach.
