Sell your home fast with 5 staging tips from local experts!

1. Eliminate the clutter:

Most homes tend to become over crowded with furniture and accessories over time.  By eliminating the clutter potential buyers can more clearly picture the space as their own.  A few ways to eliminate clutter could include the following:

  • Clear kitchen countertops. Place small appliances and other items in cabinets or the pantry.  This will make your kitchen appear larger.
  • Clear bathroom countertops. Place hand soap and a nice hand towel by the sink.
  • Eliminate unnecessary furniture. Most stagers eliminate about 50% of homeowners existing furniture and accessories.
  • Use furniture that fits properly. For instance, if a king bed barely fits in the room, use a queen bed instead to make the space feel larger.

2. Use Neutral Colors:

Neutral paint colors are endless these days.  If you have a room that is a bold color choice, it is likely that potential buyers will not be able to see past it.  A fresh coat of neutral paint can go a long way.

3. Add Greenery:

Plants and greenery have a way of making spaces feel more homey and lived in.   Whether it is a fresh flower arrangement, a potted orchid or greenery cut from your yard, you can’t go wrong with adding plants or trimmings.

4. Good Lighting:

Living Room

Make sure all of your lamps and overhead lights have bulbs and are the proper wattage.  Walking into a room that is too bright or too dim can affect the overall feel of your home.

5. Curb Appeal:

The outside of your home is the first thing potential buyers will see, so it is important that it leaves a good impression.  Freshen up your landscape with new mulch and potted plants or flowers near the front door.  Pressure washing is also a great way to improve curb appeal.
